The MTA Staten Island Railway connects Tottenville station in the South to St. George terminus of the Staten Island Ferry in the North, and carries over 15,000 passengers each day.
To help maintain contact with passengers, 22 hands-free, ADA compliant phones will be installed at each stop and will communicate with the EmVista Central system at St. George via an IP network. The components of this installation allow operators to initiate, receive and monitor calls for any type of situation.
The rugged IP6000 phones incorporate Digital Signal Processing technology that can correct for even the noisiest or echoic environments. When a call button is pressed, EmVista Central alerts video control and provides an IP audio feed to archive the audio/video feed.
For the agents using the system, responding promptly to any call is very important. EmVista Agent Station provides comprehensive drag and drop features that can allow agents to answer quickly, place outgoing calls to any phone, or even connect calls to other resources such as emergency responders. Future expansions can provide public address and radio connection capabilities.
